By mapping the structure of inter-relations in the group it provides evidence for understanding the structure and the social dynamics in it.<\/p><p><strong>Sociometry helps to:<\/strong> \u00a0<\/p><p><strong>- Explore<\/strong> ways in which people are related in social groups, communities and social networks.<\/p><p><strong>- Describe<\/strong> the identity of the group dynamics by detecting the leaders, the sub-groups and the isolated members.<\/p><p><strong>- Assist <\/strong>the group cohesion and problem solving in the group\u2019s inter-relations.<\/p><p>The main tool of sociometry is the <strong>sociogram <\/strong>which is a visual representation of the connections among group members. Members may be asked to choose other members according to certain criteria as for example, whom would you choose to work with closely.
